A Sweet and Sour Bridal Shower

This week was a little different when it came to crafting. Instead of my usual cards and scrapbook pages I had a different project. My cousin is getting married in a couple weeks and it was time for her bridal shower. My grandma called and asked if I would put together the door prizes for the shower. The hard part...she didn't want me to spend more then a $1 a piece. When she told me that her colors were orange and pink I immediately thought of the Sweet and Sour DSP scraps that I had tucked away in my retired Stampin Up! stash and the wheels immediately started to turn.

This is a group shot of what I came up with. notepads and pens (simply purchased from the dollar store and wrapped with ribbon), soaps (also dollar store), but my favorite were the candy jars and the sets of note cards. I used the Sweet and Sour DSP as a accent on almost every gift. The toppers for both card packs, filler for the little bags the soaps were in, and the candy jars are all done with that paper.

This is the first set of note cards that I came up with. I didn't put a sentiment on them so that they could be used for any occasion. I really struggled with the 4x4 size for a while. Usually I do better on a smaller canvas, but not this time. It took a lot of sample looking to come up with this. It follows pretty closely one of the samples from the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.

This is one of the candy jars. I absolutely LOVE these fan fold flower things! I actually have a wreath made with them. I use them any time that I can and this candy jar was no exception. I don't have a close up of the other candy jar, but it is the group shot pictured above. These two gifts were the first to go. One of the ladies even said that she only picked it cause it looked so cute. The only thing better then a sweet candy treat is when it is in an even cuter container!

This is the last set of cards that I came up with. This design also follows closely one from the Idea Book and Catalog.
I was sad to see this paper retire, but it was fun to work with it one last time. If you love these projects and would like to create some on your own try the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper
It is pretty similar in color and would look adorable with these projects!!!
